Opening Prayer
Leader: Dear brothers and sisters, today we gather to reflect on the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ. By remembering the suffering of the Lord Jesus, we want to become ever more aware of how great God's love for us is. We also hope to become more aware of the sins we so often commit, for it is our sins that caused the Lord Jesus to suffer and die on the wood of the cross.
Let us pray.
Almighty and loving God Father, we thank you that today you have gathered us. Through this Way of the Cross we want to remember Jesus Christ, who suffered for our salvation.
May the Holy Spirit, whom you pour into our hearts, make us ever more aware of how great your love for us is.
So through this Way of the Cross teach us not to be afraid to love you and our neighbours. Through Jesus Christ our Lord and Mediator, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever.
